This is one of my favourite transformations. Not only because the before and afters are so dramatic but also because it got on TV! Homes Under the Hammer to be precise.

At Pomegrante we try not to take ourselves too seriously, interior design is enxactly a matter of life and death BUT done well it really can make a difference. This property demonstrates this perfectly.

Formally owned by a Housing Association this basement flat was a sorry sight. Cold, dank, smelly and un-loved. We were contacted early one Autumnal day in 2009 to meet our long term client Steve Mooney from Steadykey. He had just bought the property at auction and been asked by Homes Under the Hammer if they could follow its re-development.

Working with Steve and his Achitects, Ron from Howard Fairbairn, the property underwent dramatic face lift. Firstly it was re-configured so that it had two good sized bedrooms and an open plan living area. Instead of a third bedroom we decided value would be added by creating a Master suite with a walk-in wardrobe leading to a wet-room shower.

Becuase of the dramatic events in ecconomy (credit crunch and property slump) Steve decided that we had to pull out all the stops and create a basement flat to die for i.e it had to be the MUST HAVE flat to blow the competition away.

Steve came up with a beautiful Zen inspired garden and the property was marketed in the Spring of 2010, selling for its asking price one week later.
